Trig Kendal

Almost from the first moment, I needed her. Craved her. My sweet and sassy and brilliant Maggie. But she’s ten years younger than me. Too young. Barely nineteen.

I told myself I couldn’t have her. I told myself all I wanted was for her to be safe. In truth, she was my addiction. She was my sweet fix until she became my wife. It’s just an arrangement. A marriage of convenience. Something to keep her by my side and safe until the threat passes.

Maggie Callaghan

I’ve been on my own since my mother died. Sure, I’ve been in foster care, but that didn’t mean I wasn’t utterly alone. So why does Trig assume he needs to watch over me? Because he’s older? Wiser? He seems to think he needs to scare me straight. And he does. But the man who frightens me is also the man who haunts my wicked dreams.

When he steps in with an offer of help, and a marriage in name only, I accept.

With a whispered vow, I’m out of the pot and into the fire.

Sweet Fix eBook Sasha Gold

This may be the best I've read by this author.
POVs moved to and from H (Trig) and h (Maggie) pretty consistently which I prefer in my stories.
The relationship developed gradually. While they were both pulled towards each other from the start, this wasn't an instalove story. It actually started somewhat dark with Trig threatening her (though for her own good... this scene was a bit extreme and may not be for everyone). Almost from the beginning, however, he is the person that Maggie needs in her life and that is the trend for the book. He needs her too, though I suppose the conflict is that the relationship is a bit taboo in his mind (she's his brother's foster kid - though over 18yo - and he feels she's young for him). The story is generally sweet, mostly believable (what forces them to marry at the end seemed a bit forced - though completely believable... I doubt it would work out quite like that) and romantic. Sexy times are not that much and mostly at the end of the book but the tension and feelings that are allowed to build between the characters probably makes those scenes better. The foster parents (Trig's brother and sister-in-law) and other foster kids were really good secondary characters that I enjoyed a great deal. I appreciated that they were good people. Had their characters been a bit more developed and the ending slightly less contrived, I would have given this book 5 stars. A solid book with believable characters and relationships. I would probably re-read it in a year or so.

Sweet Fix eBook Sasha Gold Reviews

So basically Sasha Gold and Alix West are the same person, I'm thinking. The stories follow the same pattern, even down to the lovemaking. Editing needed to be done in every story, and not just a little bit. There were too many misspellings, punctuation errors, and added or missing words. The cursing was out of control. There are ways to get across that a guy is a bad boy or tough without him sounding like a complete and total moron who has close to a zero grasp of the English language. Btw, the so-called historical story was far far removed from anything historical.
The good thing about the first two stories was that both couples waited until they got married before engaging in carnal activities. Also both women didn't act like shameless sluts beforehand.
The girl from the second story though, was a real wimp! I didn't like her at all, and I can't see what Jack saw in her.
Overall, these just really didn't do it for me. Although, Sweet Fix finally lived up to its name after a rather rough start. Those two had me rooting for them from about the trumped up charges (not a spoiler alert).
You really don't want to miss this book. I sometimes didn't know what to feel about it, but I'm so glad I read it all the way through. The honor and respect the hero has for heroine (and his brother and sister-in-law) was touching.
I enjoyed this a lot. There was a lot I enjoyed about this story. For a second there at the beginning, i thought it was going to into dark romance territory, but then it quickly veers back into regular new adult territory and I just laughed. Trig was a sweetheart and getting to know him was a treat. I loved watching the chemistry develop between him and Maggie. When circumstances throw them together, I was just enchanted. I loved seeing how they dealt with the hand they were thrown. Oh, and did I mention it was HAWT??? Yeah, this book has all the elements of a great story--characters, plot, and a satisfying outcome.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were good and the story line was good. I couldn't put this book down until I finished it.
This book! Wow! I loved it! It was so much more than what I was expecting. I have read a couple books by this author, which I loved, but they had a completely different feel to them. To be frank, I wasn't expecting this book to be as deep as it was. This couple didn't even truly get together until close to the end and I didn't even care, that's how much I loved their journey.

Maggie is 18 years old and going to another foster home. Her past experiences with foster parents were not good. She's never known what it feels like for someone to truly care about her. She knows her mom loved her before she died, but she was never truly put first. When she finally lands with foster parents Wes and Jane, who genuinely care, she isn't willing to trust it. She figures she's 18 and can leave to start her own life. This is where Trig, Wes' brother, steps in. When Trig realizes Maggie is about to take off, he intervenes by scaring her straight and demanded she give Wes and Jane her last year of High School before she leaves.

The author did such a beautiful job of showing Maggie's transformation. She started out so angry with the world and just blossomed under Wes, Jane and Trigs care. Throw in four young boys also being fostered by the Kendals and seeing them all grow in that love, well it was just beautiful.

The transition of Trig going from being someone she can count on, to something more, flowed nicely. Their attraction was always there but just simmering in there background. It never got inappropriate. Once they finally were able to acknowledge their attraction, it just seemed right.

This is a slow burn that had heart.
5 Holy HOT Stars and the Bonus book, was HOT and STEAMY!!!!!

I absolutely LOVED this book! First time I have read anything by this author and I am hooked! Trig, oh my, sexy as hell and Maggie turned out to be one hot mama!!!!!

LOVED it) Short, sexy, sweet read that kept me glued from to finish and left me with the biggest grin from ear to ear!
Maggie is an orphan and is living in her 4th or 5th foster house. They are really great but they also foster 4 boys under the age of 8. She thinks its too loud and she is worried they are going to give her back. But Trig her foster father's brother picks her up and scares her and her foster parents Wes and Jane never know she wanted to leave.
Trig is attracted to her but she is 10 yrs younger than him. Things are getting better until something happens and a marriage is the only way to solve the problem. Will a marriage is name only become something more for Trig and Maggie?
This may be the best I've read by this author.
